Let's Play Organ Trail: Part 1

You like zombies? Well so do I... I suck at starting posts don't I?

As you might have guessed already I'll be playing Organ Trail.

The game itself is a zombie themed parody of Oregon Trail, a long running game series that's turned up on many school computers.

The specific version it's based on is the somewhat famous and very old Apple II version, which would be the one I played incidentally.

If you're interested in trying out the game yourself you can play a free version on the developers website. Link

You can buy the Directors Cut version on Steam or Desura.

I'll be playing on normal, I'm thinking updates will last until I reach the next town or major event. I'll keep it up until I'm dead or I manage to win (fat chance).

Rather than make a large info dump now I'll explain how things work as I come across them.

I suppose I'd better go through the inro for the benefit of those who haven't played this game before.

Also I'd really hate to make Clements sad on the last few day's of his life, sorry I'm not spoiling too much am I?

The game proper begins with a shooting tutorial as I get swarmed by zombies. The controls are a little weird but I got used to them quickly enough.

I run out of ammo pretty quickly though. Luckily this kind stranger rescues me.

So here's Clements, try not to get too attached. His suggestion to work together is reasonable enough and he also raises a very good question, just what the hell IS my name?

And for that matter what are we going to call my traveling companions?
